Show review

As you can see, I forgot to post the review of the show on Wednesday. You shouldn't be suprised by that, haha.

We got to Kim's house in time to have dinner with her. Kim got pizza for everyone but me and I got a could-have-been-possibly-poisoned turkey sandwich (we weren't sure how long mayonaise lasts). Sarah and I then left for the venue. We wanted to be there a little early so we could get a good spot. We got the best spot right up front by the stage! Yay! The opening act was slightly late coming on but they were really good. I had never heard them before but they made a new fan that night. The band's name is And One and they are a german electronica band. Very high energy. The singer has a great personality too.

Then VNV Nation took the stage and despite a few minor glitches with the sound and mic the show was beyond amazing. They are a very interactive band. Ronan spent lots of time talking to the audience. They encourage audience participation. They like you to scream, clap, sing along, dance, just generally have a good time. Someone kept buying the band drinks and being the nice guys they were, they drank them. Ronan even handed out water during the show (and thank God for that!). I must have looked pathetic enough because I got a bottle. Sorry to anyone who reads this that took a drink from my bottle. If you have a cold now, it's because I had a cold that night.

VNV Nation played for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. They were amazing and I can't wait to go see them again.

We're off to see...

VNV Nation!! Yay!! I can't wait. Sarah and I should be leaving in a couple hours. It's a hour drive to Virginia Beach. That's where we'll be staying, with Kim. Then from her house we'll be heading over to Norfolk. It's a little bit of a drive (maybe 30 minutes), but so much better than having to come all the way back home after the show.

I'm dying my hair right now. Intense Auburn is the color. We'll see how intense it is in about 8 minutes. I'm still slightly sick, but thankfully my head doesn't hurt quite as much as yesterday. Let's hope it stays that way.

I'll be back tomorrow with a full report (if I don't forget to post it that is).

Happy Easter

Easter, the time when all good children get candy and all naughty children get to go to church. Not really, but usually holidays involving presents has some king of good/bad thing going on. What does happen if your naughty on Easter? Does the easter bunny take back his eggs? Do you get coal instead of chocolate? I personally favor getting "a bag of switches", as my grandmother used to say. That was what we would get for Christmas from Santa if we were bad. Somehow, now that I think of it, giving a "bad" child a bag of switches seems like a bad idea. Wouldn't that child then just use the switches to beat everyone within reach? And for those of you who aren't from the south, a bag of switches means you get a bag of limbs off a bush that would be long, thin, and good for getting your ass whipped. Not that I ever received such a spanking, mine always involved a belt. Ah, childhood memories...

Happy Easter everyone. Or as my friend Jeremy so eloquently put it "Happy Zombie Jesus Day"!

1.) Do You Realize - The Flaming Lips
2.) Christian, Christian - The Start
3.) Getting Smaller - Nine Inch Nails
4.) We Die Young - Alice In Chains
5.) House Of 1000 Corpses - Rob Zombie
6.) To Youth - Flogging Molly
7.) Mountain Song - Janes Addiction
8.) Today I Woke To The Rain Of Blood - Combichrist
9.) It's A Shame About Ray - Lemmonheads

Hopefully Asshat will have his act together next week and do this himself. And I do not accept work as an excuse Kurt.
